About Lesson

Every leader starts unfinished

No leader begins perfect.
Everyone has strengths and weaknesses.

Examples of strengths:

  • patience
  • creativity
  • courage
  • logical thinking
  • kindness
  • fairness

But a strength only becomes leadership when it is used responsibly.

Understanding weaknesses without shame

Weaknesses do NOT mean:

  • you are bad
  • you are broken
  • you cannot lead

They simply show:

  • where growth is needed

Common weaknesses students might experience:

  • avoiding responsibility
  • losing temper
  • procrastinating
  • needing constant approval
  • becoming defensive when corrected

Great leaders face weaknesses honestly, not fearfully.

Growth mindset vs. fixed mindset

A fixed mindset says:

“I’m just not good at this.”

A growth mindset says:

“I’m not good at this yet, but I can learn.”

Leadership always requires growth thinking.
