About Lesson
“What you say to yourself… matters.”
What Is Self-Talk?
Self-talk is the voice in your head that comments on what you do, how you feel, and what you believe about yourself.
It can be:
✅ Helpful:
“I’m learning, I’ll get better with practice.”
✅ Kind:
“That test was hard, but I tried my best.”
❌ Hurtful:
“I always mess things up.”
❌ Harsh:
“Nobody really likes me anyway.”
Real-Life Example:
After a group project, Sam thinks:
“I didn’t do enough. Everyone probably thinks I’m lazy.”
But in truth, Sam did contribute and others appreciated it.
Try This:
Replace negative thoughts with realistic ones.
- “I messed up” → “Everyone messes up sometimes. I can fix this.”
“They hate me” → “They might just be having a bad day.”
