EmoXP: Level Up Your Feelings
About Lesson

One of the greatest gifts you can give your child is a growth mindset — the belief that their abilities can develop over time, and that effort, curiosity, and resilience are more important than instant success.

🌟 Growth Mindset

“I’m not there yet, but I can learn.”
“Mistakes help me understand more.”

Performance Mindset

“If I’m not good right away, I’ve failed.”
“I need to be the best to be valuable.”

🚫 Watch Out For:

  • Over-celebrating perfect scores but ignoring effort
  • Saying “you’re so smart” instead of “you worked hard”
  • Comparing them constantly to siblings or peers

Try This Instead:

  • “I noticed how you kept trying different ways — that shows persistence.”
  • “What did you learn, even if it didn’t go as planned?”

💬 Real Life Example:
If your child brings home a C on a tough math test but studied hard, resist the urge to criticize. Instead say:

“I’m proud of the effort you put in. Let’s figure out what felt confusing and work through it together.”
