About Lesson
Have you ever been told, “Don’t cry,” or “Just calm down”? That might’ve made you feel like emotions are something to hide — like you’re wrong for feeling a certain way.
But guess what?
Emotions aren’t wrong. They’re messages.
Your feelings are your brain’s way of saying:
➡ “Hey, pay attention! Something important is happening.”
For example:
- 😟 Nervous before a test? That’s your brain saying the test matters to you.
- 😡 Angry when a friend breaks a promise? That’s a sign you value trust.
- 😢 Sad when a pet passes away? It means you loved deeply.
🔎 Real Life Example:
Lila didn’t get picked for the school play. She told herself, “Whatever, I didn’t care anyway.” But the truth? She was hurt. Once she admitted she was sad, she could talk to her teacher about trying again next time or exploring stage crew instead. That’s called processing — and it helps.
