About Course

The primary goal of this basic art class is to expand aesthetic awareness and develop the aesthetic judgment of students, and to establish self-esteem and self-confidence in their art.

Throughout this course, we will give them exposure to art history through analyzing a work of art by comparing it to art from a different time or culture. We will discuss elements of art and the principles of design while identifying aspects that contribute to the effectiveness of the art.

Students will use personal and cultural experiences as subject matter, and they will be taught how to select and use elements of art and technical skills in order to achieve their desired effect. This course will explore areas of artistic interest in greater depth as students develop their own critical thinking and problem-solving skills. There will be a variety of materials to use for their art.
